昭和37(1962)年6月5日、通報によれば、先端には目も鼻も口もなく、押すとゴムのような弾力があり、ウロコはなくヌルヌルした大蛇のようなものが、浜でのたうっているのを地元の人が発見。
駆けつけた水産物検査員も「見たことがない」と述べた。
