ジェレミー・ウェイドという名のよく知られた釣り人がアマゾンのピンクのイルカ(This Geoffriensis) を探していた時、ホラディラ(Holadeira)として知られている不可解な生き物に二回遭遇しました。
1993年に初めて彼は生きものを見ました。

彼は水の表面に鋸歯状の胴体が現れるのを、彼のボートからおよそ100フィート(30.48m) 先に認めました。
好奇心旺盛なウェイドは、生き物の川の近くに住んでいる地元住民に尋ねましたが驚いたことに、誰も彼が説明するような生き物の事を知りません、
ウェイドはそれから数週間後にイギリスに戻り、撮影した写真を現像しました。絵の一つには確かに奇妙な生き物の姿をキャッチしていました。
不可解な生き物の色と動きから見て、研究者は生き物がアマゾンのピンクのイルカであると思っています。
しかし、彼らは動物がどのようにヒレの形状をそのように発展させることができたかについてわかりませんでした。
それでウェイドは、翌年アマゾン川に捜しに戻ります。
アマゾンでは、ウェイドは、彼が2週間前に川の中の生き物を見たと主張した地域住民に会いました。
彼はそれをホラディラ(Holadeira) と呼びます。それは「のこぎり」を意味します。
そこからウェイドは、Holadeiraの名の由来を用いました。
ウェイドが生きた生物を見つけ出すことに長くはかかりませんでした。
表面に出てきている一群のイルカを記録していたとき、彼は Holadeiraを見ました。

今度は彼の頭が見えました、そして、本当に、生きものはイルカであることがわかります。
しかしイルカに、同じその種類(鋸歯状)のヒレがありますか？
最もよくある質問の仮説は、漁師のネットまたは漁船のプロペラによって損傷したイルカのフィンです。
もう一つの可能性は、イルカが受ける遺伝的な障害です。

しかし、ウェイドはイルカを見るのには慣れていたので他の可能性があります。
おそらくそれは本当にアマゾンからの新型の怪物です。
