スンダルバンス(Sundarbans/シュンドルボン)で発見された新しい猫

変わった猫のこれらの写真は、インドのスンダルバンス(Sundarbans)で、カメラトラップでとらえられました。

その模様が漁り猫(スナドリネコ)と山猫の中間であるので、これが新しい種であることが示唆されました。
私は、それが山猫であると思います。

18匹のベンガル・トラを撮らえたカメラトラップは、かつて見たことがない猫の2枚の写真を捕えました。
それは完全に、別の種かもしれない、

彼らがロング・テールで、小さな黒毛の猫に出くわした時、荒野のたくさんの写真の束にざっと目を通している森の役員は急に立ち止まりました。
そんなことは、スンダルバンス(Sunderbans)での公式記録にも探査の数十年間にも見られない事でした。
スンダルバンス(Sunderbans)は、ヒョウが見られたことがないインドで唯一の虎保護区です。
バングラデシュ側では、1931年にヒョウの最後の目撃を報告しました。
カメラトラップで撮られる猫は、野生の猫より大きくて、ヒョウより小さいと、情報筋は言います。
それが新しい種であるかどうかはまだわかっていません、しかし、森の当局はそれがメラニスティック(melanistic/黒化) な山猫（動物の世界の稀なもの）であると思っています…

私は、それが異常に色のついた山猫（Prionailurus bengalensis）であると思います。
