具体的に近いのはMonterey湾、カリフォルニア州。

この動物のDescripitions(描写、解説、説明、記述) は大きく異なります、そしてその目撃はかなり一般的です。
それは一般に考えられる大きな、けれどもそれに起因するサイズとは異なります、
サイズがシャチのそれから小さなクジラ（ただし、サイズの不一致は目撃される異なった年齢または性の二形性のによって説明することができます) のそれの間で変化するけれども、それは通常、大きいと考えられています。
生きものは、老人のそれに似ている皺の多い皮膚があるとも言われています。
