幻のボルネオヤマネコ【Bornean Bay Cat】 : 13SHOE・高野十座のブログ

1998年に初めて写真に撮られた幻のヤマネコ。

ボルネオ島の密集した森や水辺の近くに生息していると推測されていますが、1992年雌のボルネオヤマネコが捕らえられ、それ以後は姿は確認されていません。

体重が３～４・、体長が約５５cm～７０cmと小型で、胴体の半分以上の長さもあるシッポを持っています。
被毛の色はこげ茶色で中には灰色のものもおり、足と腹部にはほのかな斑点があり、頭と頬に白い模様があります。

シッポにも白い模様が先端まで続いています。
