特徴：Eaglelike鳥。長さ、3–4フィート。翼長、14–30フィート(約4～9m強)。
しばしば、Piper Cub airplane の寸法と言われます。
ブラックまたは茶色（年齢と共により灰色になる）。
大きな、黒い目。大きなくちばし（引っかけられない）。短い首。
翼、幅およそ12インチ。短い、厚い足。
習性：おそらく渡り鳥、南にアパラチア山脈を通して 11 月に旅行はウェストバージニア州と北に 3 月にニューヨーク州北部に。
ゆっくり翼をはためかせます。密生した森林地帯を通って簡単に飛びます。
死肉の食事。
肩をつかんで、彼らを供給する遠い山頂へ運ぶことによって、人間を捕食すると言われています。
生息：中央および西ペンシルバニア、特にクリントン郡のSproul国有林。

重要な目撃例：最も初期の証言は北陶芸家郡の Elvira Ellis Coats から来ます。
そして、その人は地元のインディアンから1840年代にペンシルバニア・サンダーバードについて学びました。

ツベで見たことあるけど、お母さんと子供が外で遊んでたら、いきなりでっかいワシだか、コンドルみたいのが赤ちゃんの肩を、これぞまさしく鷲掴み、持ち上げて連れ去ろうとした動画視たことあるよ、

でも母は強し、パッと駆け寄るとその鳥から赤ちゃんもぎ取ったからね？
